The purpose of the Santa Clara Girls' Soccer Camp is to create a positive atmosphere in which each player can develop the self confidence, self motivation and self discipline needed to reach her potential.  It is also one of the best avenues to get exposure to top level NCAA coaches for all Division's (I, II, III, NAIA and Jr. College).  Our experienced staff will provide personalized instruction in every phase of soccer, with special emphasis placed on proper technique under the pressure of an opponent.  Tactical group concepts will be introduced or reviewed appropriately based on camper skill level and age.  Learning is achieved through small sided games and one of our goals is to not only teach the game but to develop a passion for the game of soccer.  We are extremely confident that each player will not only be challenged by our curriculum but have fun and develop friendships with the coaching staff and their fellow players

DAY CAMP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Day Camp is for players ages 6 - 12 with an emphasis on technical development.  The training sessions will cover such topics as finishing, passing and receiving, heading and dribbling.  Campers will spend quality time with the ball at their feet.  Small sided games, with low numbers in a tight space will promote more touches on the ball.

GOALKEEPERS:
Goalkeeper training is available at Day Camp.  Individual instruction in both technical and tactical aspects of goalkeeping are covered.

RESIDENTIAL CAMP ---------------------------------------------------------------

The Super Skills portion of camp is tailored to the player ages 10 - 12 with an emphasis on technical development.  The training sessions will cover such topics as finishing, passing and receiving, heading and dribbling.  All technical sessions will progress movements under the pressure of time and space and / or an opponent.

The HS Prospect portion of camp is tailored to the player ages 13 - 17 with an emphasis on technical development.  However, a bigger emphasis will be placed on tactical developement.  Technical topics such as finishing, heading and dribbling will be addressed.  More of the on field sessions will be focus on positional play, reading the game, off the ball movement and combination play in the attacking and middle third of the field.

GOALKEEPERS:
Each Camp Session has a goalkeeping option.  The focus of the Santa Clara Goalkeeper Camp is to improve the technical, tactical and physical aspects of the goalkeeper position.  Campers will be taught and trained using similar methods as how the Santa Clara University Goalkeepers are trained.  All aspects of technical goalkeeping will be trained including catching and handling, diving, high balls, angle play, footwork and distribution.  There will be goalkeeper training in the morning and afternoon sessions.  Goalkeepers will then be integrated into full sided matches in the evening.

Team Training:--------------------------------------------------------------

Bring your team, train as a team.  This is a great opportunity for overall team development.  We will be happy to accomodate groups requesting to train and room together.  To be considered a full team for the purposes of forming a camp team, we must have at least 12 of your team's field players enroll as a group.  This is done most efficiently by having a team manager contact the camp director with a list of names.  If the number drops below 12 before camp begins we willl no longer be able to guarentee all players will be placed together on the same camp team.  WE DO NOT OFFER TEAM DISCOUNTS.
